Artists' Living Room.
“Rather than the artwork being an encounter between a viewer and an object, relational art produces intersubjective encounters. Through these encounters, meaning is elaborated collectively, rather than in the space of individual consumption.” ~Nicolas Bourriaud
We put this show on once a year in the fall. The artists in the team get their favorite reading chairs and books together. Coffee is brewed, note paper and pencils are on hand for all. Then we open the doors to the public, and to interaction. Once we had completed the second room in the gallery, we added a moment of playful reprieve.
